Events held at Pioneer Acres
The main event held at Pioneer Acres is the
annual Menno Pioneer Power and Toy Show. It
is held every September on the third weekend after Labor Day. This
event usually draws about 3000 paid visitors, 200 exhibitors, 60
vendors and over 300 volunteer workers. The first Power Show was held
July 4th, 1987 in the Menno City Park and remained in this location
until 1995. In 1996 the Show moved to “Pioneer Acres” which is located
just north of Menno.
Another event is the Miracles of Jesus
Pageant. It is usually held the third weekend of July. In 2003 the
Pageant celebrated it’s 25th year of ministry. It will not
be presented in 2007 but look for it in the coming years.
Pioneer Acres is also host to a number of
other private events such as; family reunions, wedding dances,
anniversaries, and other similar functions held on the grounds. The
Pioneer Acres facilities are available for rent to the public for a
reasonable fee. Reservations need to be made well in advance of
the use date to assure availability.
